The Jeep Renegade Hard Steel show car makes its debut at the 2015 Geneva International Motor Show, 3 March 2015. Created by Jeep, in collaboration with Mopar and backed by the FCA Style Centre, the concept car explores the full customisation potential of the Jeep Renegade, while also providing an outlook for potential future Mopar accessories dedicated to Jeep's newest model.

Based on the rugged and capable Jeep Renegade Trailhawk, the prototype is not a simple an exercise in aftermarket add-ons, but a design project that draws on Jeep's past for inspiration but with an eye very much to the future. Finished in brushed steel paintwork - a bodywork treatment that evokes cutting-edge aviation and marine technology - with contrasting matte black for many of the features such as the grid, roof bars, mirror covers, 16" alloy wheels, side rubbing strips, bonnet air vents, fenders and bumpers, the "Hard Steel" treatment is even extended to the interior where the frames of the air conditioning vents, gearbox, glove compartment and audio speakers are also finished with a brushed steel effect. This compliments the light grey tone stitching of the seats, the door panels and the Trailhawk logo embroidered on the headrests of the seats, which are trimmed in Poltrona Frau® Century lead-coloured leather. The high-quality leather coating, designed to celebrate the brand's 1912 centenary, is accomplished through intricate and skilled craftsmanship resulting provides in leather that's soft and warm to the touch, with a worn look of nuanced texture.

Mechanically, the Renegade Hard Steel concept car adopts larger BF Goodrich All Terrain tyres, raised suspension and a skid plate engraved with the "Trailhawk" name, while a Mopar tow bar is added to accommodate the trailer which, in addition to boosting the carrying capacity of the Jeep Renegade, also becomes an Internet hotspot thanks to the Mopar-developed Wi-Fi system.

Within the trailer, a touch screen display shows all the features of the new Uconnect® LIVE system, a service platform that allows access to music streaming (Deezer), Internet radio (TuneIn), news (Reuters), real-time traffic (Tom Tom LIVE) as well as social network (Facebook and Twitter). Available from June on Renegade model -the first Jeep vehicle to provide this - the sophisticated infotainment system adopts UconnectTM 5-inch or 6.5-inch touch screens to control the radio, media player, hands-free phone, navigation and UconnectTM LIVE services.

Finally, the Jeep Renegade Hard Steel show car trailer is equipped with speakers that make it a real entertainment station and through the collaboration of Jeep and Deezer, showgoers at the Geneva Motor Show can preview the "Renegade Playlist" - 25 music tracks that evoke the true spirit of the unconventional and adventurous new Jeep model.
